The Earth is the main world here, no special powers, no big monsters, nothing like that. No, it's completely normal, except for the fact that there was a massive earthquake that rocked majority of Tokyo ten years ago. It was a devastating event, written all over the news, people all over the world know about it. After that, Japan went into a state of complete disarray, the crime rate skyrocketed, gangs were roaming the streets and even cops were corrupt and were accepting bribes from anyone. Japan came together, built its first privately owned prison, and inmates were sent there from all over.

The best part about this prison, it was where criminals would most likely go to die. The death penalty was the only way to get crime to go down, so far more criminals were being killed, and with this prison came entertainment for the public as well. Inmates were forced to put on shows if they ever wanted to keep living comfortably within the prison, and while the people in the audience thought it was good fun, the prisoners were being humiliated and tormented.

But, whatever gets the crime to stop, right?

With the earthquake came a new breed however, the deadmen, and while no one knows exactly what they are, they exist. A small group of people were effected by the earthquake, the ones that mutated after experiencing the red hole incident were all within Japan, but the prison has been.... experimenting, trying to see if they can get others besides Japanese to become like deadmen. They're a treasure, a real delight after all.
